As a refresher the following photos are from a year ago just after MGA Dan had acquired the barn find.

MGA Barn Find - Update 11.2.13

The Barn Find MGA 1600 shown on 6th January has now found a new home. The new owner has done a rough assembly of the car with the body panels that were stacked with the car.

When out for a drive in Twin Cam YD2 1679 another of Dan superb restorations we called into see how the MGA barn find was going.

Dan is now well underway with the full restoration of the car and photos following illustrate the extent Dan goes to to ensure a great result.

Norm and I attended this years George Green Memorial Rally which was organised by Sue and Les from the Vintage Sports Car Club of Australia. The Rally was based around the Port Stephens area in New South Wales.

Left Brisbane around 6am on the Thursday morning and drove the MGA Twin Cam (YD2 1679) through to Newcastle that day to catch up with another MG friend prior to joining the rally on Friday.

At the lunch stop this historic Citroen Light 15 pulled in behind, the guys were on their way to the world rally round at Coffs Harbour.

On the way to Nelsons Bay for lunch passed the coal loaders at the Newcastle port.

Started on a good note with with lunch at Murray's Brewery and Port Stephens Winery where lunch was accompanied by a drop of their famous beer.

The Whale Ale was so good that we bought more for the afternoon refreshment stop.

I wanted a carton but Norm thought it was unfair that he would have to walk to the accommodation as my beer would have occupied the passenger seat, so a six pack was all I got

The cars kept rolling in and lunch was frequently interrupted to see what had arrived in the carpark.

Saturday morning started at a leisurely hour for a short run to Fighter World at Williamstown and then onto Tomago House for a delightful lunch provided by the friends of Tomago House.

Another Cousin

Just to keep up the fluids an afternoon stop was made at the Erringhi Hotel in Clarence Town. Caught up with one of the family driving a MG TD.

Sunday started with a cruise around Port Stephens and lunch. Afternoon drive to the historic town of Morpheth for light refreshments.

Afternoon happy hour and evening meals allowed plenty of time to discuss the day's adventures and meet fellow vintage car enthusiasts.

A wonderful weekend and a great first drive in MGA Twin Cam YD2 1679.

Left early Monday morning for a very wet drive home via the New England Highway, overnight stop in Glen Innes. Spent Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday removing and drying out the interior of the twin cam.
